Work Credit Options
Purpose
To provide students enrolled in the Summit County Alternative Education Academy with documented, community based work experience.
Eligibility
- Students must be enrolled and actively engaged in courses.
- Students must maintain grades of C or higher in courses.
- Students must have approval from the home district guidance counselor.
Application
Students must complete the Student/Parent Contract.
Work Experience Report
Students must complete the Work Credit Papers (1-4) and keep a Journal of their Work Experience.
Employer Meeting
Students must meet with employer and Alternative Education Academy personnel three times per year to establish program and assess student progress.

Credit
- 80 hours work = .5 credit; 160 hours work = 1 credit
- Credit will be issued at the end of the school year.
